Jessica confirmed for KBS2 drama ‘Violence Romance’!


Jessica is confirmed to make her drama debut along with actor Lee DongWook in KBS2′s drama ‘Violent Romance’, which will kick off on January 4th.
On December 23rd, production staff of the drama told TV Daily through a teleconversation, “Jessica will taking the role of Kang JongHee, who is the ex-lover of Lee DongWook’s character in the drama. She is expected to make appearances in 8 episodes.”

In ‘Violent Romance’, Jessica’s character Kang JongHee is Lee DongWook’s first love whom he could not forget.

Meanwhile, Jessica’s acting skill has been proven from her role in musical ‘Legally Blonde’. Besides, YoonA and Sooyoung, Jessica is the 3rd member of Girls’ Generation who has been confirmed for a drama stint this year.

[SHOWS] Girls’ Generation teaches the Dangerous Boys to dance!


Girls’ Generation takes up the roles of dance teachers for the five boys from JTBC’s ‘SNSD and the Dangerous Boys’, who have taken up the challenge of the dance competition ‘Street Jam’.

In the previous episode, with the help of psychiatrist, Girls’ Generation has advised the boys to compete in ‘Street Jam’ in order to give them a common goal.

The five boys, who have never danced before, were surprised by their first mission; to participate in the dance competition.

When Girls’ Generation tested the boys for their basic dance skills, it foreshadowed the hard times ahead.

Before the actual competition, the five boys will be dancing to ‘The Boys’, the song of their mentors, in order to test their possible improvements in dancing.

It is also heard that despite their tight schedules, Girls’ Generation made a surprise visit to the boys.

This episode will be aired on December 25th at 7.30pm on JTBC. The boys are participating in the ‘Street Jam’ competition, where the top dancers of Korea competes, which will take place on February 5th.

[NEWS] Actor Kim ByungSe made a surprise confession to Jessica on ’1000 Songs Challenge’


Sunny, Jessica and Sooyoung will be making an appearance on ’1000 Songs Challenge’.

The preview of next week’s episode which features Girls’ Generation was aired during the broadcast of SBS ’1000 Songs Challenge’ on November 6th. On next week’s episode, actor Kim ByungSe made a sudden confession by saying, “I only like Jessica”.

Upon his confession, a caption then appeared at the bottom of the screen stating, “This is much more fun than the ‘King of Kings Challenge’”, which arouses even more curiosity. Want to find out more? Make sure you catch the girls on SBS ’1000 Songs Challenge’ next week!

‘The Boys’ teaser video recorded more than 1.55 million view in 3 days


In just 3 days, the teaser video of SNSD’s new song ‘The Boys’ has recorded more than 1.55 million views.
On October 1st, the 30-second teaser video for ‘The Boys’ was revealed through YouTube. At around 10am KST on October 3rd, the number of views have exceeded 1.55 million.

SNSD at Hyundai Oil Bank K-League 2011

Earlier today, SNSD performed at Hyundai Oil Bank K-League, and even though Yoona wasn't there because of her drama filming "Love Rain". Sooyoung have recovered and and performing with the girls. It looks like she has completely recovered and all set for their comeback.

UK Newspaper “The Guardian” Writes About Girls’ Generation


In the October 1st edition of British newspaper, “The Guardian”, a story ran featuring Girls’ Generation as the leaders of K-Pop’s domination in Japan.
The article details the rise of Korean pop culture in Japan, starting with dramas and then music with artists like TVXQ and Kara, and praises Girls’ Generation as the leaders of the current trend in Japan. Last summer the girls performed in Tokyo for 20,000 fans and recently finished their sold out Arena Tour.

SNSD to perform in the ‘New Start 2011 Pyeongtaek Festival’ on October 1st




On October 1st and 2nd, Korea’s prominent singers Kim Jang-hoon and Park Sang-min will be presenting their gorgeous stages at the Pyeongtaek lakeside and Pyeongtaek Leports Town, in conjunction of the ‘New Start 2011 Pyeongtaek Festival’.
In this event, audiences are able to experience various cultures of Korea and overseas countries, through the congratulatory performances of Korea’s top singers.
The opening ceremony kicks off on October 1st at Pyeongtaek Leports Town, where leading idol groups like SNSD and Teentop will be performing, followed by popular singers like Kim Jang-hoon, Park Sang-min, Koyoye and Kim Wan-sun. A spectacular firework display will then end the ceremony in the autumn night.

SNSD to cheer for Busan IPark on October 2nd!


SNSD have been invited to a K-League Round 27 football match between Busan IPark and Gyeongnam FC which will be held at Gudeok Stadium, Busan at 3pm KST on October 2nd.
SNSD’s performance at the Gudeok Stadium is aimed at boosting the morale of the Busan IPark players in their effort to stay within the top 6 in the league. Park JongWoo who is a regular in the team and recently being selected to don South Korean’s Olympic football team colors said, “We are happy that SNSD and other stars are visiting us for such an important match. We’ll put on a good performance in front of our fans”. Park JongWoo who is filled with anticipation also hinted that there might be a special ceremony just for SNSD.
Besides SNSD’s performance, there will be other events being organized to cheer the home team on. For the fans, booths for face painting and support stickers will be set up at the stadium.

SNSD auctions off their ‘Woongjin Coway’ outfits and props for charity


On September 27th, SNSD attended a charity auction for single women breadwinners called the ‘Beautiful Auction’ in collaboration with their endorsement brand, ‘Woongjin Coway‘.
‘Woongjin Coway’ came up with the idea of auctioning off the outfits and accessories SNSD wore in their CF to help raise funds for the charity.  The charity aims to support women in building new lives and independence.
The members of SNSD personally autographed the items and posed for reporters next to an autographed water purifier.  Check out photos from the event below!

Girls’ Generation to Release Third Full Album “The Boys” on October 5th


Girls’ Generation will be making their comeback on October 5th.
Girls’ Generation will be releasing their third official album’s title single “The Boys” on October 4th. The full album itself will be released on iTunes in Korea, as well as the rest of Asia, Europe, and the Americas, at the same time on October 5th.
As Girls’ Generation has grown as a girl group that gains attention, not only in Asia, but all over the world, they have planned a fitting “worldwide” concept. They are planning on revealing both Korean and English versions of ‘The Boys”, for both the song and music video.
“The Boys” was written and composed/arranged by Teddy Riley, who was Michael Jackson’s producer, as well as the founder of “New Jack Swing” and Black Street member in the 1990s. He is currently known as one of the best producers all around the world, and has garnered even more attention after it became known he was working with Girls’ Generation.
Starting with Taeyeon on September 26th, teaser images will be released in order. It is predicted that the anticipation amongst fans will grow regarding their new single and performance.
